OMG August Finished

Where does the time go?  In a blink of an eye, it's the end of August.  But I managed to get some sewing done and finished both of my August projects for OMG (which are also two of my Finish along Q3 goals).

Here is my finished Postcard from Sweden.  You can get the free pattern by Jeli Quilts here.

Organic wavy lines in white thread for a quick finish.

There was enough of the colourful striped backing to use for the binding.

I used the following 36 Kona colours:  Lipstick, Flame, Bright Pink, Pomegranate, Emerald, Kiwi, Sprout, Citrus, Lemon, Creamsicle, Nectarine, Kumquat, Chartreuse, Leprechaun, Cypress, Baby Blue, Regatta, Peacock, Cyan, Riveria, Capri, Lilac, Red, Purple, Mulberry, Crocus, Poppy, Wisteria, Valentine, Carnation, Petal, Candy Pink, Lagoon, Carrot, Orange, and Peapod.

And I finished my blue Isla top (by Made by Rae).  I used my new serger for most of the seams, but I still have a lot to learn.

I'm linking up my finish with:

  2. I have this weird no-striped-fabric policy (I don't know why -- it just doesn't seem very "me"). But I can't imagine a more perfect backing and binding for this project. It frames the piece beautifully!

  5. I love the backing and binding for the Postcards from Sweden quilt, and the wavy lines finish it nicely. I really think that these goal setting linkups are so neat; it's fun to see how everyone works so hard to complete their goals. <3

  7. such a colourful quilt a real beauty, top has worked so well too good to see the serger at work, have decided to pass mine on to someone who need one, have had mine since 2001 and rarely used it

  9. Love your Postcard from Sweden! The colors really glow. Congrats on finishing off the top, it's very cute. I'm not sure I can sew with a 5/8" seam anymore, I think I'm permanently set at 1/4" these days.

  23. Your top is NOT orange?! I think blue looks terrific on you and that is sure a pretty pattern...been getting tempted to sew for myself again... LOVE the Postcards from Sweden, saw it on Instagram and think I said there I and a few friends are supposed to be doing it together as a QAL this Fall. Love your rendition. I still haven't investigated the stash for what Kona colours I DO have...thanks for the names of yours.
