It was difficult to take photos today because it was so windy. I kept hollering at the wind to stop (like it could hear me), but it calmed down enough for me to capture these.
For those keen-eye Kona lovers, that's Citrus thrown into the mix for fun.
I had some leftover triangles, so they were added to the back.
I broke out of my comfort zone and tried some dot-to-dot free motion quilting. My lack of skills in piecing curves transfers to quilting...pretty stressful at times trying to keep my speed even and to make a curve.
Lots of wobbly stitches on the front, but the back looks awesome.

This quilt is gorgeous, Anja! I have always loved blue/green color combo, and the yellow triangles make the quilt very interesting. Very nice quilting!

ReplyDeleteYour curved lines look like they are dancing in the wind too. They add a lot of movement to your quilt.

ReplyDeleteThe quilting looks great, Anja! I feel the same way about quilting an orange peel look, but when it is all put together magic happens when you can see the bigger pattern and not the details of each arc. :)

ReplyDeleteCongrats on another finish! The quilting looks great, too. One thing I do like with the continuous curves is overall it's pretty forgiving even if your curves get wonky. I know mine do. Standing back from the quilt the over all effect is what stands out.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty quilt. I really like how the triangles look like they are part of different shapes as you look at them - hexagons, etc. It keeps the eye moving and adds so much interest.
