WIP - Mystery Quilt Top
When I decided to play along with the Meadow Mist Designs Mystery Quilt hosted by Cheryl, I decided not to peek at the final pattern -- that it would truly be a mystery. It was stressful not knowing whether I had chosen appropriate fabrics.
The stress is gone....here is my finished quilt top.

well, you did a fantastic job not knowing where you were going! you chose really well. nice work, lady! it's powerful and bright and so cheery.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty Anja. I have not yet done a mystery quilt. I think it was brilliant to choose solids for this. If your fabric had a directional print I would think it could be a challenge to use it without knowing how the blocks go together.

ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful, bright quilt, Anja! Like others who have commented, I never would have put those colours together, but I'll take a lesson from what you've done. I really like how the design is staggered, I think it adds a lot to the quilt's appeal.

I love the colours and design layout of this quilt! I'd love to drape it over a white wicker chair on a big old-fashioned verandah with a mason jar full of daisies! Looks like the colours of a Maritime summer day!

ReplyDeleteDidn't this turn into a fun quilt! All that stress for nothing! You'll have to learn to trust your instincts and just go with it....stress free next time! Have you decided how you will quilt it?
ReplyDeleteI found choosing the order of my 4 fabrics a bit stressful too and know I like to have a plan at the beginning - still I think the mystery bit is good to push you out of your comfort zone will try more of them! This turned out really well - congrats!
ReplyDeleteAnja it turned out just great! I didn't look either, and I'm still not sure, as I mentioned in my last post about it, that it will be okay. I would have reversed two of my fabrics had I known...but it still is fine and it IS fun to forge ahead with no glasses on, lol!
