4 x 7 Sewing Challenge - Week 4 Success

It's the final post for the 4 x 7 Sewing Challenge hosted by Sarah at Berry Barn Designs.

Day 22:
I sewed on the binding for the Additions baby quilt -- see finish here.

Day 23:
Although I did not do any quilting, I did lots of quilting-related activities.  I won a few online prizes recently, so I spent some time choosing patterns and stickers.  I started preparing the backing for my Meadow Mist Designs mystery quilt (quilt top finished here).  I worked on plans for the first ever Maritime Modern Quilt Guild retreat.

Day 24:
I started sewing together my mini EPP hexies.

Day 25:
I finished piecing the backing for the mystery quilt.  It's odd calling it a mystery quilt now that I know what it looks like.

Day 26:
Again another day of no quilting, but I did something so very crazy on the spur of the moment.  I'm going to Glamp Stitchalot in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in June.  In less than 24 hours, four of us booked event tickets, a flight, and a hotel.  Oh my!  We're going to meet Elizabeth Hartman and Carolyn Friedlander (among other teachers).  I still can't believe it.  I'll believe it soon enough when the credit card statement comes in.

Day 27:
MMQG had it's monthly Sew In.  I worked on a WIP bag (pattern by Crazy Mom Quilts); finished the next Modern HST Sampler block; started work on Notched (pattern by Quilting Jetgirl); and worked on Inside Out (pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew).

Day 28:
I attempted a new FMQ motif on the mystery quilt.  I watched Angela Walters' Dot-to-Dot Quilting class on Craftsy.  Clearly, I need to go back to pre-school to learn how to draw a straight line.

Day 29:
More quilting on the mystery quilt.

It's been a productive February.  On the few days that I wasn't able to do any physical quilting, I worked on quilting-related projects.  So I consider the 4 x 7 Sewing Challenge a success.

Thanks to Sarah at Berry Barn Designs for hosting.

  1. Congratulations on such a successful 4x7 sewing challenge. I tend to break out the rulers for when I am doing dot-to-dot. It slows me down, but I think my lines would be much much worse than what you show here without them!

  3. Isn't it nice to look back and see that you really did accomplish a ton of stuff? You always seem to, but wow, this is a great way by doing the daily notes. I might have to join in if she does it again. Glamp Stitchalot!! Ann Arbor! That's only an hour and a bit from me...tempting, must check it out. Are you using a ruler for Dot to Dot? That changed things big time for me on the longer lines. Still, once it's washed you will only see texture (does that sound like an Angela quote?!)

  4. Awesome job, Anja! You've been so productive since the last linkup! I haven't even managed to link up if that is any indication to my productivity. Lol. How awesome you get to go to Glamp Stitchalot in Michigan! I'm sure you will have a blast! :)

  6. Great progress! Angela's lines aren't straight, either! As she claims, it lends itself to a more interesting quilt! How lucky that you could make Glamo Stitchalot happen! You'll have such a good time. Who else is going? MMQG members? Happy Hump Day! Happy sewing? XO
