WIP Wednesday - Quarter Round Quilt

I have been missing in action for the past several weeks.  This spring has been extremely busy at work, and I'm on week three of a cold that I thought was gone but re-appeared Sunday morning.  Today was a good day, so fingers crossed that it's now finally gone.

But I did manage to find some time to attend a workshop on Saturday.  Maritime Modern Quilt Guild (along with other guilds in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island) hosted Krista @ Poppyprint.

I participated in the Quarter Round Quilt workshop.  Here are my first two blocks.  They are 10.5 inches square -- Kona Pesto and Snow for the background.

And then two reverse blocks in a lighter shade -- Kona Grass Green.

And the four blocks put together.  I ♥ how this looks like a circle.

Now to find some time to quilt this and make a pillow.  I welcome your quilting suggestions.

  1. Oh how lovely, vey effective. I'm useless on quilting but for what it's worth how about concentric circles? It will make a lovely pillow

  2. I hope you are over the cold, too, and that work will slow down sometime soon for you. Quilting? I like Kate's suggestion of concentric circles as well.

  4. Those blocks are so unique! It's going to make a lovely pillow. It's surprising how strong the circle illusion is.

  5. Hope you continue to feel better! Love those blocks! I suggest SID then a small background fill in the 'backgrounds' (that which goes into outer corners) of each block, but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Thanks for sharing on Midweek Makers!

  6. Lovely blocks! As for quilting I would be tempted to do circles.

  7. I'm glad to hear you are starting to feel better and hope that things slow down very soon. It's so cool how it does make a circle when you put them together. Very very cool.

  13. These log cabin type blocks are awesome. I would maybe do some straight line quilting on them.

  14. Concentric circles are a pain unless you love burying threads ;) Try a spiral instead!

Glad things are easier and hope you feel all the way better soon.
