Project Quilting 12.3 - Virtual Vacation

This week's theme for Project Quilting hosted by Kim @ Persimon Dreams and Tish @ Quilt Chicken is:  Virtual Vacation.

We were given the following guidelines:

Are you dreaming of a trip? Or poignantly remembering one from the past? Let’s quilt it out this week. Whether you’re a camper or a jet-setter, a perfectionist with an itinerary or a free-spirit that follows the wind – I want to see it in your quilts this week.

Sew a scene from your dreams, whip up a “wish you were here” postcard, make a project with colors inspired by a sunset with your sweetie, or build a bag to pack for your next adventure – the project is your choice, and you can take it any direction you wish. But somehow tie your project to the vacation you’re not on.

I missed out on two quilting adventures last year due to the pandemic and am anxiously looking forward to the time when we can safely travel and gather together again.

I made two lined drawstring bags to hold items while travelling.  These will be mailed off to a friend in New Zealand.  She loves Canada, so I used a fun print of a beaver dressed as an RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) officer.

My go-to pattern is the Lined Drawstring Bag by In Color Order.  This is the Everything Bag that Jeni offers as a free tutorial.  The pattern has eight sizes.

And this is the smaller Snack Size.  I used Kona Honey for the accent.

Now off to prepare for the pending snowstorm (the second in a week).
