Plum Pudding Table Runner and Placemats

Today is my day on the two-week blog hop featuring Plum Pudding, the new signature fabric line for Sherry Powered by Quilting.

There is a great mix of light and dark fabrics in this collection, so I went with a classic log cabin block.  The table runner is 16 x 32 inches.

I made two matching placemats that are 12 x 18 inches.

I did straight-line quilting with Aurifil #2350 Copper.

*Giveaway Alert*
Leave a comment for a chance to win this table runner and two placemats.  The giveaway will end at midnight Saturday, June 26, 2021.  If you are a no-reply commenter, I will have to re-draw for a new winner.  Due to high postage rates, this giveaway is open to residents of Canada.

Follow Your Own Path QAL

Did you follow this year's QAL hosted by Sandra @ Musings of a Menopausal Melon?  Sandra's QALs never disappoint, and Follow Your Own Path was no different.

I made the baby version and used Kona Storm for the background.  I used Kona Tiger Lily, Clover, Duckling, and Rich Red for the arrow shadows.

Due to my basement flood, I was behind in making the first set of blocks.

The blocks pieced together quickly.  Next time, I think I'll put the shadows below the arrows.

And before I knew it, the blocks were all made and ready to be pieced into a top.

I was a rebel (again) and skipped the borders.  I did add a small border so I don't lose the arrow points when adding the binding.

The end is in sight for my basement repairs...the new vinyl plank flooring was installed today, and it looks amazing.  More painting and finishing work tomorrow, with the plan that my stuff will be brought back on Thursday.  My first task of the weekend is to get my mid/long arm back up and running so I can get this quilted, along with a few other tops.

If you missed the QAL, the pattern is in Issue #15 of Modern by the YardBenartex's ezine.  But if you didn't download that issue, Sandra will have the pattern available for sale shortly.

2021 Monthly Colour Challenge - June Block

We are now at the halfway point of the 2021 Monthly Color Challenge hosted by Jen @ Patterns by Jen.  You can sign up for the monthly blocks here.

The June colour is orange.  I orange...but I think you already knew that.  😉

I used Kona Kumquat and School Bus. School Bus was the first orange I used when I discovered Kona solids.  It's a great colour, and it's fun to say: School Bus.

My HST Bloc Loc ruler has been used regularly for this block of the month.

Flying geese blocks make up the majority of the block.  I wish I had the Bloc Loc flying geese ruler.

I've been making 12.5-inch blocks.

TGIFF - Cloud Surfing Workshop

Welcome to Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday.  TGIFF is the opportunity to share your finish from this week.  You can find out who is hosting each week by heading over to the TGIFF blog.

I participated in a Zoom workshop with Shannon @ Shannon Fraser Designs for her Cloud Surfing pattern, which uses oval curves.  I made the baby size -- 34 inches.

I used Kona:  Quicksilver, White, Kumquat, Grapemist, and Regal.

I did straight line machine quilting in the background fabric and then did some big stitch hand quilting with perle cotton.

It didn't turn out how I envisioned, so I added more hand quilting and added more colours.  LOL  I definitely like it better now.

I love the texture.

It's now time to share your finish from this week.  I encourage you to visit a few of the links ups to get some inspiration and to share some quilty love.

TGIFF - Bokeh Finish

It took me some time to make a decision on quilting, but I've finished my Bokeh quilt from the QAL hosted by Yvonne @ Quilting Jetgirl.

I used Kona Storm, Blueprint, Quicksilver, Chartreuse, and Natural.

I had taken a walking foot quilting class from Melissa Marginet and decided to try one of the grid patterns in her book.  However, it didn't turn out as I had planned.  I quilted a star pattern; however, the star is not easily seen.  I highlighted two portions with red lines so you can see the star pattern.  But in the end, I do like the overall effect, and the great design in the centre.

I used a light green (Lucid Pear) thread.  I had to quilt this on my Singer domestic because I barely had enough of the awesome backing fabric.

This was another great QAL hosted by Yvonne.  Her patterns never disappoint.

I used my favourites:
