Today is my turn on the Calm Lagoon blog tour hosted by Sherry @ Powered by Quilting for her third signature line -- Calm Lagoon from Island Batik.
I added Island Batik solid grey to the beautiful blues and greens to create a Storm at Sea quilt. I was unable to get the top quilted in time.
I purchased the Accuquilt Storm at Sea die, which made cutting and piecing more efficient.
I'm always amazed by the movement in Storm at Sea quilts.
I think I know how I'm going to quilt this, but I welcome your suggestions.

It’s beautiful! I recently finished a storm at sea quilt for my son and daughter in law. I don’t have a fabric cutter, so I paper pieced it - I won’t do that again. Love your colours!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt Anja. The Storm at Sea is one of the quilts on my To Do list. I’ve been looking at the die for my Accuquilt so just might have to get it after seeing your quilt. I have been collecting the “perfect” batiks for the project, too. I like the idea of wavy lines for the quilting, but think I’d do stitch in the ditch to really let the pattern and fabric be the stars n this sweet quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous Anja! The blues and greens are just perfect for a Storm At Sea quilt. I’ve always loved how this pattern has such movement with just straight sided shapes! I’m no help with quilting- that’s always the part that stalls me!
