Broken Panes Quilt Along - Quilting

Did you get your Broken Panes Quilt Along quilt top quilted?  I did!  Even though we are getting close to the end, there's still to join in.  Just head over to Jen @ Patterns by Jen to get the pattern.

Two weeks ago, I shared how I prepped my top for quilting on my "longarm."  I decided to go with an all-over simple loop motif in white thread.  The white background fabric has a faint loop pattern, so I thought it was a good choice.  And the bonus is...it doesn't take long to quilt using an all-over motif.

I have been practicing writing with free-motion quilting and sometimes will quilt my name in the bottom corner of a quilt.  I think it's time to start practicing my last name.  We'll see how that goes.

I have a worn-out cutting mat that I use to square up my quilts.  I do this on my living room floor so the quilt is nice and flat, and it gives me lots of room.

A nicely trimmed quilt, all ready for binding.

Stay tuned for my tutorial on maching binding.

  1. Nice quilting! I love the swirls! I quilted my name into a quilt once, but I don't think the recipient ever knew!
