Round 1 was chosen by Brenda @ Songbird Designs -- the hourglass block. There are many ways to make an hourglass block, so head over to Brenda's blog to get more information.
I decided to make my hourglass block by pairing two HST blocks. I used my Bloc Loc ruler to trim the blocks. I used Kona Natural and Everglade.
I'm going with an alternate layout this year instead of the traditional medallion layout. I combined four hourglass units into a 12.5-inch block.
Don't forget to link up your round 1 with Brenda to be entered into the prize giveaway.

I really like that your hourglass blocks rotate around the block. Not always, but occasionally time does have a very cyclical feeling.
