WIP Wednesday - I Did It!!

I finally did it!!  I made a decision on fabrics and started putting together my Sew Together Bag.  I'm using the tutorial over at The Quilt Barn in conjunction with the pattern.

Here's my pile of fabrics, all ready for sewing.  I wanted to use a variety of colours and not just orange.  But who am I kidding???  This bag was soooooo going to be made out of orange fabrics, with orange zippers.  J

Side panels completed.  I like using the tutorial because it provides a lot of photos.

Stay tuned.  I'm hoping to make some more progress this weekend.

I also managed to get all my fabric cut for the Meadow Mystery QAL hosted by Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs.  It's good to be not rushing at the last minute, but now I have to wait until September for the next set of instructions.  I'm excited to start sewing!!

What have you been working on this week?

  1. You've got a great start on both projects, Anja. Love your fabric choices for both, but especially all the orange!

  2. It s going to be delicious! I'm a big fan of orange, too! Glad you posted this. It reminds me that I want to make one, too! Now, where did I save that pattern?........hmmmmmm. Don't get old! XO

  3. I haven't taken the plunge yet on the sew together bag but am working my way up to it! Feels good to have decisions made and moving onto the next step!

  4. It just had to be made with orange! At least you have your fabrics cut for the Meadow Mystery.

  5. I've had my eye on sew together bags for ages, I just haven't taken the plunge yet. And of course it has to be orange!! Lol.

  6. Pretty, pretty colors! Can't wait to see the bag finish. Thanks for sharing on Midweek Makers

  7. Those orange fabrics are going to make one good looking bag! I'm all cut up and ready for September, as well for Meadow Mystery. It's going to be a long wait isn't it?

  8. I've been meaning to make a sew together for so long. I will get there one day. I look forward to seeing your progress

  9. Yay! Nothing wrong with orange on orange!
If you have not yet sewn your zippers in, I recommend Crazy Mom Quilts' zipper end method.

  10. yep it is orange…and will have lots of punch

  11. Those are going to be two beautiful finishes, especially with all that orange.

  12. Wow! You are getting lots accomplished! I still have to cut my pieces for the Meadow Mystery quilt and then do September's instructions. Maybe next weekend, I'll catch up :)
