TGIFF - 2020 Monthly Color Challenge

This is one of my UFOs that I finished over the Christmas break.  This is the 2020 Monthly Color Challenge hosted by Jen @ Patterns by Jen.  Jen is hosting a 2021 Monthly Colour Challenge.

I didn't follow the finishing direction and did a plain sashing instead.  It finishes 46 x 60 inches.

I did an all-over stipple in a variegated thread by Connecting Threads.  Sadly, they don't seem to stock the variegated thread any longer.  And of course, I used my favourite Hobbs Heirloom Premium 80/20 batting.

Jen is hosting a quilt parade for all the finished 2020 Monthly Color Challenge quilts.  Head over to link up your own finish and to see all the other finished quilts.

Here are links to some of the bloggers that participated throughout the year.  Stop by to see their finished quilts.

I'm linking up with:

Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday @ Lisa in Port Hope
Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? @ Confessions of a Fabric Addict
Finished or Not Friday @ Alycia Quilts
Needle and Thread Thursday @ My Quilt Infatuation
Brag About Your Beauties @ From Bolt to Beauty

2020 Monthly Color Challenge - April

It's time for the April block for the 2020 Monthly Color Challenge hosted by Jen @ Patterns by Jen.  There's still lots of time to join in -- get all the details over at Jen's blog.

This month's colour is purple.  I've been making my blocks from my scrap bag, so my fabric decisions are based on which ones I have sufficient fabric.  😊

Make sure you head over to Jen's blog to download this month's pattern.

Here are my blocks for January, February, and March:

Make sure to check out the blocks made by the April bloggers:

2020 Monthly Color Challenge - March

It's time for the March block for the 2020 Monthly Color Challenge hosted by Jen @ Patterns by Jen.  Head over to Jen's blog for details.

I decided to use my favourite colour -- orange -- for this month's block.  Trimming the HSTs was made easier by using my Bloc Loc ruler.

This was a fun block to make.  Make sure you head over to Jen's blog to download the pattern.

You can check out the blocks made by the other March bloggers:

2020 Monthly Color Challenge - February

It's time for the February block for the 2020 Monthly Color Challenge hosted by Jen @ Patterns by Jen.  Head over to Jen's blog for details.

February's colour is teal and focuses on HSTs.  I use my Hera marker (slim and regular) to mark the diagonal line rather than a pen or pencil -- you can mark two blocks at once, saving time.

I think I have the tension fixed on my Singer Featherweight, so I've been sewing on it the past two days.  I used Island Batik prints.

Head over to Jen's blog for details on the prize sponsors.

2020 Monthly Color Challenge

Have you ever participated in the Monthly Color Challenge hosted by Jen @ Patterns by Jen?  I'll be sewing along with Jen and other bloggers for the 2020 version.  (It's very hard not to type colour -- with a letter u).

Jen has lots of information on her blog.  Click here for the blog post that lists all the colours for 2020.

You can find a list of the participating bloggers here.

There will be prizes given out every quarter (April 1, July 1, October 1, and January 1, 2021).  Click here to read all about the wonderful sponsors.

Tomorrow, Jen will be releasing January's block early.  Make sure you head to her blog to sign up for the monthly e-mails.  The blocks will be free for the current month.

I hope you choose to sew along in 2020.
