WIP Wednesday - Sewing with the Squares

Sew day with the Squares!!  My quilt bee Q-Squared managed to find a day that we were all available.  It's been a busy two weeks at work that I haven't done any sewing, and it will continue to be busy for the next few weeks.  It was so good to get together with friends today.  Even though I had a million things to do at home and at work, it was necessary for my sanity.

I started the day working on the November instructions for the Mystery Quilt hosted by Meadow Mist Designs.

The flying geese were sewn to the square-in-square blocks.

I managed to finish all of November's instructions.  Looking forward to December's instructions.  There are no loose pieces left, so I guess we begin piecing the top in December.

These are the Court House step blocks from October.

I also started piecing my Night Sky quilt which is my November ALYOF goal.

I pieced the six orange blocks.  Only 30 more blocks to go......

And then I discovered that I wasn't suppose to piece the blocks together -- they were meant to be left in halves for easy piecing of the top.  Sigh......  I couldn't bear to unstitch them tonight -- I'll save that for another day.

  1. Everything is looking great! I still need to do my November instructions-but my machine is giving me tension issues and I think may need to get a checkup!

  2. I really like your color grouping for the mystery quilt and how the piecing for this month came together for you. And bummer about the night sky blocks; but at least you didn't sew the next 30 before figuring it out. :)

  5. EnJOYed seeing your mystery quilt. I'm working on that one as well. I haven't looked ahead, so the experience is like reading a book without knowing how it ends. Love your colors.

  9. Quilt days are the best days. Been so busy but I sneak away to the machine just before bed. Max has given up looking for me, he knows where I go ;) So glad you had a great sew day with the Squares - nothing better than quilt therapy!
