TGIFF - Isla Top

I made my Isla top (created by Made by Rae), and I am so pleased with it.  ♥  I made a top!!  I was afraid to try it, and it was so easy to make.  So easy that I can't wait to buy some more knit fabric to make another one....maybe more than one.  I think I'm ready now to make my Washi dress that I've been avoiding for at least a year.

This project was my March OMG and my final goal for Q1 of Finish Along 2017.

I hate having my photo taken, but I knew it was the only way for you to get a good look at the top...so here goes.  I finished it on Sunday and then wore it to work on Monday.


Donna was trying to get me to pose, while trying to make me laugh at the same time.

    Anja, you made a shirt! Hurray for taking that leap. Now it will me much less intimidating I agree- make another one and your self confidence will be even stronger. The washi dress pattern isn't terribly difficult. The small cut out in the neckline is a little bit tricky and so is the shirting across the back. However the directions are very clear. I have made two of them so if you have any questions, email me. Good luck.

    Love the fabric on this shirt too!

    What a great finish! Congrats! The shirt is great and looks terrific on you. I keep looking at the fabric to decide if it is shirred or whether it is the pattern of the fabric. I'm guessing it is the pattern on the fabric. Enjoy wearing your new top and yes, make another while it is fresh in your mind...it'll be so much easier than the first one.

    Your Isla top turned out great. Awesome job and such a neat knit print. I used to sew more clothes,but it is so hard to fit myself.I need to get back to doing this,as I currently am a "what not to wear" episode.Thanks for linking up with this week's TGIFF.

    Yep I get it I hate having my picture taken too;) But your top is so cute, I am glad you shared it. So the hemming of the knits is what scares me! I have sewn lots of t-shirts for kids when they were little and I always put a band on them to solve the problem.

    A beautiful top and perfect on you! Isn't it funny how we (ahem . . I) put something off, thinking it will be so hard and then find out it wasn't so bad after all? Gotta go cut out (yikes!) that Laurelhurst cardigan for my daughter's wedding in 2 weeks :)

    This top looks fabulous on you, Anja! Perfect fit and such a fun print. The only thing that surprises me.... Is that it is not (only) orange. But the purple is a flattering colour for you. Nice job!
