And here is my finished quilt.
Sadly snow made another appearance. 😢
I spent a lot of time considering quilting options, but no ideas came to mind. So when all else fails, an all-over stipple in white thread. The white thread blended in so well with all the colours -- it gives the quilt some texture.
I found an awesome print for the back. And now I'm regretting not buying more, especially since it was on sale for $5 a metre.
It was so windy, the snow kept getting all over the quilt.

ReplyDeleteAnother WOW moment.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish. Love the pop of green.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and the colours are wow. I really like the backing and $5 a meter that was a good buy.
ReplyDeleteAnja, looks so bright and crisp! People around here would go for this quilt in a heartbeat! It's our local football team's colors. (Boise State Broncs blue and orange)
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely Anja! And I love that backing fabric too. I know what you mean about the snow - Montreal got a few more cms overnight last night... I'm so done with winter!!
ReplyDeleteThe colors and values turned out to be perfect; hard to do on a mystery when you don't know the end at the beginning. Claire aka knitnkwilt
ReplyDeleteAnja, it's a beauty! You're creative juices are really flowing! XO
ReplyDelete$5 a metre - we in the U.K. Only dream of fabric at that price . I think I like your mystery quilt best of all those I have seen because of the bright colours . Well done
ReplyDeleteBright and lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteAn all over design works beautifully on this quilt, Anja. Congratulations on the finish. I really like that you bound it in the green accent as well.
ReplyDeleteWow, that fabric is perfect for the back! (and the snow coordinates, so there's that) Way to go, finishing in time for the parade!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is stunning! Love the bright colours and the backing is sensational too!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt and perfect backing fabric. (I too love a good white stipple when all else fails.)
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I love the bold and bright fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so pretty, Anja! The white thread really did go a great job of blending in and giving the quilt very pretty texture. I know snow isn't exactly what you wanted, but it sure does make for a nice backdrop, the quilt really pops against it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great finish Anja! I think your white stipple quilting is ideal :)
ReplyDeleteGreat finish! I love the backing you found and I agree that sometimes an all-over stipple is the way to go. :)
ReplyDeleteReally like the contrast in your quilt and am mad about that blue!
