I grabbed some fabric to match a pink zipper I had on hand and then started watching the class. I made a few minor mistakes along the way, but they were fixable. And voilà, a new zippered pouch.
No need to make zipper tabs and no messy zipper ends.
The Becca Bag uses fusible fleece. I wonder if it would work just as well with interfacing.
I do like this pattern. It will sew up faster next time since I won't have to watch the class as I sew. Now to try the Sweetpea Pod.
Sadly winter has arrived. Day two of crappy weather. More snow tonight and then another storm Monday night. Snow shovelling is going to cut into my sewing time this weekend.

Cute zipper bag!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for getting the bag done! I liked working with fusible fleece the few times I've used it.
ReplyDeleteVery cool bag Anja! To me, being a New Zealander, that base fabric looks like what we call 'koru patterns' in the Maori culture, so looks like a little bit of 'Kiwiana' to me.
ReplyDeleteGreat bag ! And I'm not the only one who has the zipper then hunts the fabric!
ReplyDeleteCute bag! May have to look into that pattern.
ReplyDeleteDon’t you love learning something new? Very sweet bag, Anja. It looks to be just the right size. Stay safe and warm! Spring is just around the corner!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you chose! This is a great finish, Anja. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat zipper pouch. I love the pattern. I used thermolam in the ones I made. I use the Sweet pea pod to hold wonder clips. Be safe while shoveling.
ReplyDeleteCute bag! I really like the look of the zipper :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute bag. It would work with interfacing but the bag wouldn't stand up at all. Let us know how you like it made with interfacing... I like to make zipper bags but I never know what to do with all of them!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty bag, yes I like this much better than the ones you posted today - better usability shape for sure. This zipper intrigues me! It looks like it used only one side, looped over on itself? The zip still works this way? If so, that is so cool!
