Here's my finished quilt. I chose not to include the borders, so it finishes around 50 inches square.
I quilted it with an all-over loop FMQ motif in white thread to mimic the subtle loopy pattern on the white background.
The binding is the same red print that was used in the sashing.
A pieced back to use up my stash.
Thanks to Jen for hosting the QAL and allowing me to blog along with her. I like participating in QALs as my rule is to use only fabrics from my stash (but I will buy one fabric if needed), and it gives me "homework" to sew. If I were left to my own devices, I'd probably lose focus and start a new project every day. Squirrel!! LOL There's just not enough hours to make all the things.

ITs a great finish!! I really like the bright colors you used!! So ... can I steal that excuse - as in Honey I can't do the dishes I am doing my *homework*?? I mean that sounds more serious!!!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a lovely baby shower gift. Love the bright, happy colours. You are amazing 😉
ReplyDeleteYour Broken Panes quilt is a beautiful finish. Love the bright and happy fabrics you used and your quilting is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilt! The colours are a lot of fun and that's a nice size for a throw or kids quilt.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! I like how you used some of your stash to make it.
ReplyDeleteI just love that photo of the quilt on the antique machine!
ReplyDeleteAnja, it came out nicely. It’s just the right size to fold over the back of a chair to pull down onto your lap when you feel chilled. It’s my new favorite size to have around the house. It looks very pretty pictured with your antique machine.
ReplyDeleteYour finish looks lovely, Anja. 50" square is a small lap or a large baby quilt. However you use it it will bring you joy. This pattern looks a lot like the Disappearing 9-patch.
