4 x 7 Sewing Challenge - Week 2

We're halfway through the 4 x 7 Sewing Challenge hosted by Sarah at Berry Barn Designs.

Berry Barn Designs

Day 8:
I worked on my January Aurifil block, which I unveiled here.

Days 9 and 10:
I quilted and added the binding to my January Mighty Lucky Quilting Club bias tape challenge, which I unveiled here last week.

Day 11:
No time for sewing as it was the monthly meeting of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild.

Day 12:
I went fabric shopping for two commissioned baby quilts. Even though this is the Year of Stash, I did buy some fabric. my own defence....wide backing for $10.50 a metre cannot be left on the shelf, so I bought 1.5 metres.  And I couldn't fabric for $1.75 a metre.  What can I say?  I love orange, so I bought 2 metres.  I also bought something for a giveaway (see below).

Day 13:
I was pillow pattern testing for Linda @ Scrapmaster, and although I had the top completed, I only just got around to quilting it.  I'll be sharing the finish this week.  I also fixed my Quilter's Planner cover (and just realized that I haven't blogged about making it).

Day 14:
I cut mini charm squares for the Birthday Bonus Club and worked on my commissioned quilts.

Giveaway Alert
Sunday, February 21 will be the second anniversary of my blog.  Where has two years gone?  I have had so much fun meeting so many great people and learning new things.  Stop by for the celebration and enter to win.

  1. Cough choke $1.75/metre??? That's basically free!! IMHO. I don't know how you do all that and work full-time and make commissioned quilts--! Wow. You are amazing. And I have to say again how much I love your Anja quilt.

  2. Such a productive week! I love the fabric you used for your planner cover, so orange and fun. :)Congrats on the upcoming blogiversary!

  3. Holy cow, you got a great deal on fabric. Like Sandra says, that is basically free. Nicely done! And happy (early) blogiversary!!

  4. Where did you find fabric for that price???? Orange is a colour I rarely work with, but I love your planner cover.

  5. I love what you did with that bias tape! The colors are outstanding, but I'm really intrigued by how you made a word with it! Sounds like a very busy week for you and you hit the jackpot at the fabric store!!

  6. You have accomplished so much quilty goodness! Congrats on your blogaversary! It's a delightful place to visit! XO

  7. You got lots done, I love the the bais tape piece, it is so cute!!!!

  8. I love that you have been able to sneak in something quilty every day. Your planner cover looks very nice, I love that orange.

  9. There are some fabrics that simply can not be left on a shelf (I didn't even put an lol at the end of the sentence). Love your bias tape challenge piece and the journal cover is gorgeous.

  10. Does the irony of your sewing meeting being the only day you didn't get any sewing done strike you? :)
I think your two fabric purchases are more than justified at those prices.

  11. Love your planner cover Anja. I'm around 2 years as well.

  12. Love that you're getting in so much sewing time to yourself! The planner cover looks great :)
