I love the Island Batik fabrics I used. Sandra made a multi-coloured version, and I'm looking forward to making one as well, perhaps with some orange. 😉
I thought about straight-line quilting but didn't want the added work of marking lines. So a wavy line with a loop gave me the appearance of lines, but I didn't have to be precise. As I do with all my quilts, I used Hobbs Heirloom Premium 80/20 batting.
A new practice is to quilt my name somewhere near the bottom of the quilt. I attempted 2020. Not bad for not having a plan or practicing in advance.
Time to print off a colouring page to figure out what colours to use for my next version.

SEW perfect to quilt your name and the year into this quilt, Anja!! Sandra makes a habit of quilting her initials into the quilts she makes.
ReplyDeleteVery smart to quilt in the year as well, Anja! I really love the depth this design creates with the layers and I'm definitely enjoying all the blue you have been using lately. ;)
ReplyDeletePretty blue fabrics, and a beautiful quilt. Your 2020 quilted is perfect ;)
ReplyDeleteI like the lines with loops. I can see you making this one with orange.
ReplyDeleteGreat quit top!
ReplyDeleteI really like the quilting, especially the way you quilted in your name and the year. Your color choices give the quilt a 3 dimensional quality.
ReplyDeleteI need to get used to quilting my name and year, its a good practice! I need to figure out my back but congratulations on a perfect finish!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun pattern, and I love blue!
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt! Of course, it does help that blue is my favourite colour!
ReplyDeleteThe quilting is perfect!
Great job !!! Love the 2020. Do you need some orange grunge or canvas? Just ask and it’s in the mail.
ReplyDeleteYAY!! Here's me jumping up and down to see your quilt all done! Thank you for the kind words on my pattern, and thank you so much for sewing along with me again. Cannot wait to see the multi-colour version. PS Orange works really well for the centre floating block! Wish we'd talked ahead of quilting, because I didn't mark any lines, just 1" little ticks at the edges, and then used the piecing lines as my guide! I hate marking, so always look for ways around it, ha. And yes! On adding to your quilting repertoire with 2020 now.
ReplyDeleteLove this version! And your loopy lines quilting is fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern and finish!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so great - glad you were able to participate!
