WIP Wednesday - Rock Candy Pillow

I'm playing catch up with the Journey to Nebula Skill Builder QAL.  Monday was the deadline to finish the Rock Candy pattern -- clearly I'm not successful in my catch-up attempts.  LOL

When searching through my stash for fabric, I found some Alison Glass 5 x 5 inch squares.  There were enough black and white prints to cut the diamonds, and I used Kona Black for the background.  I'll be making a pillow instead of a table topper.

It didn't take long to piece the diamonds and triangles.

And then there was a finished pillow top.

Next up is the big stitch hand quilting, which I hope to finish this weekend.

  4. Big stitching will be great. I totally failed at doing these, but may still do some in the new year. I love the jaybird rulers, so it is always fun to use them.

  5. Better late than never! The more I'm seeing your hand-quilting, the more I want to get my quilt basted and try this. It has sat for about four years now, waiting for the coton perle big-stitching I plan to do...

  6. Love this! I've got the patterns and wanted to take the Journey too but haven't found the time yet. This looks lovely. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
