I'm slowly making my way through the pile of unfinished quilt tops. I sewed along with Cheryl @ Meadow Mist Designs for her mystery QAL that finished earlier this year -- Mosaic Mystery Quilt.
I always have big ideas to do some custom quilting and then I can't decide what to do, so I put the quilt top aside. Start a new project. Repeat. And thus began the pile of tops.
I did an all-over loop motif in white thread. It gives the quilt such great texture.
Photos were taken before the snow arrived. And arrived it did. 😢
I went through my stash of wide back fabrics and matched them to quilt tops. But I miscalculated how much of the orange I had for two tops, so this one got a pieced back.
Cheryl's current mystery QAL is underway -- Morewood Mystery. There's still to join in. Cheryl always has great mystery designs -- you won't be disappointed.
This was one of my 2020 PHD projects. PHD is hosted by Gail @ Quilting Gail.

ReplyDeleteWhat a festive quilt!! I know what you mean about big ideas for quilting. If it was easy I might do more detailed quilting on larger quilts...but on a domestic machine it isn't easy!
ReplyDeleteLove your Mosaic Mystery. The colors are perfect, looks like sunshine. Great finish.
ReplyDeleteBright and Cheerful. Love the blue and orange on white. The scrappy binding is whimsical - perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteI too like the scrappy binding! It just the perfect pop of color here and there!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome finish! This quilt is so bright and cheerful.

Congratulations on a great finish! I would like to understand how the back miscalculation happens so often...I think I can get two...oops not really.
ReplyDeleteAnother great finish! And the pile of tops keeps shrinking, soon you'll be all caught up.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous quilt!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so well Anja! Yay for yet another finish!

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful happy quilt! I do love the convenience of wide backs but a pieced back is so much fun and your backing fabrics go with the top perfectly!
