Stay at Home Round Robin - Round 5

It's time for Round 5 of the Stay at Home Round Robin (SAHRR) hosted by Gail @ Quilting Gail.  Once I got passed the stress and nervousness of designing a quilt based on input from others, I'm actually enjoying this SAHRR.  I had planned to make my quilt top well before the actual event, but here I am, just like you, making each round week-by-week.

Round 5 is being hosted by Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of my Quilting Life.

I cut some 2-inch squares of Kona Canary, Citrus, Sunny, and Corn Yellow.

Add some triangles.

Wonky stars are the result.  5-inch blocks sounded like a great idea until I had to cut and sew 2-inch squares.

To balance the busyness of the checkerboard border at the top, I put the wonky star blocks along the bottom, a few on the sides, and two in the top corners.  The top finishes 46 inches now.

There are two more rounds in the SAHRR.  I hope you are enjoying sewing along and finding inspiration from all the bloggers and participants.

Each week, there will be a linky party hosted by the blogger who designed that week's round.

January 11 - Centre - Gail  @ Quilting Gail

  1. I really like how your quilt is turning out, Anja. It seems only right that your center star should be surrounded by some sparkling stars, too!
