It's been another great year of fun, finishes, and friendships. It's my 4th blog anniversary! 🎆🎇🎉🎈🎊
I started my blog four years, late on a Friday night, so I could have a chance to win a prize. 😊 There wasn't even a single photo in my first post.
This continues to be a wonderful adventure of learning new things and making new friends.
2018 is my year: my car will be paid off in June; mortgage paid off in July 🙌; turning 50 in July; going to India in September to celebrate; and going to Sewtopia Boston in November.
*Giveaway*
Leave a comment telling me something exciting that's happening for you in 2018, or something you're looking forward to trying in 2018. I'll randomly draw four names at the end of the day Sunday, February 25, 2018. I have four patterns to give away: two from Jaybird Quilts, one from Lazy Girl Designs, and one from Patterns from Jean Boyd.
Thank you to everyone for your comments on my blog, for your great advice, and for providing me wonderful opportunities. It makes this adventure so much more fun. I can't wait to see what the rest of 2018 has to offer.

Celebrating 3 Years of Fun, Friendship, and Finishes
It's hard to believe it's been three years since I started my blog -- February 21, 2014. I have met so many wonderful people, made new friends, and have had a lot of fun on this journey.
I've played along with mystery quilts and blog hops, designed two quilt blocks (and one was published in The Quilter's Planner 2016!!), tried new patterns, learned new techniques, and tried things I never imagined I would (and you know paper piecing is at the top of that list). 😊
GIVEAWAY!!! I'm in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Sangam (a Girl Guide World Centre) in India in 2018 to celebrate my 50th birthday. Leave a comment telling me a place you have always wanted to visit. I'll randomly draw at the end of the day Saturday, February 25, 2017. The prize is two patterns from Jaybird Quilts.
Thanks to everyone who has commented on my blog (and thanks for following), given me great advice, and generally supported me in this adventure. Here's to another great year!!

Celebrating With a Giveaway
Today marks the second anniversary of my blog!!
I started my blog late on a Friday night in an attempt to win a prize. Adrienne @ Chezzetcook Modern Quilts was hosting The Library Project. My first post was pretty bad -- not a photo to be seen.
My friend Jenn @ A Quarter Inch from the Edge had been encouraging me to start a blog. But I didn't know what I would say in a blog and didn't think that anyone would read it. I am so very glad that Jenn continued with the encouragement and that I finally accepted the challenge. I have met so many wonderful people and have learned so much.

Since I can't figure out a way to have everyone send me an anniversary gift J, I'm having a giveaway instead.

Celebration!!
One year ago today, my blog started with a hastily put together post late at night so I could participate in The Library Project hosted by Adrienne over at Chezzetcook Modern Quilts. It's amazing what one will do for the chance to win a prize.
Huge thanks to my friend Jenn over at A Quarter Inch from the Edge for her encouragement to start this blog and for all her support and advice over the past year. Also thanks to Linda aka Scrapmaster and to M-R over at Quilt Matters for their tips and suggestions on how to improve the layout of my blog. It's great to have friends near and far willing to share their knowledge and expertise.
So what's one to do for an anniversary...buy presents of course!! So I treated myself to new some Kona. I won a Gee's Bend pattern from Debby Kratovil Quilts, and she allowed me to choose from her eight patterns. I choose Medallion Variation:

Since it would be awkward to ask all of you to buy me a present for my anniversary, I've decided to give away a present instead. Comment on this post (by Saturday, February 28) for a chance to win a little something from me. Anniversaries and birthdays are a time to reflect. What are you grateful for, or what makes you happy?
I'm grateful for all my quilting and blog friends. It's been a great year! Now on to year two.
