TGIFF - Glamp Stitchalot

This finish has been a long time coming....six months to be exact.  And sadly, it's not the oldest WIP in my stash.

This quilt began back in June when I went on a quilting adventure with Jenn @ A Quarter Inch from the Edge, Julia @ Jada's Quilting Adventure, and Dena @ No Frickin' Blog Yet.  You can read about this quilt's journey:

Ta da!!  Simple loop free motion quilting for a quick finish.

A colourful striped backing.

Some close up photos of each of the rows.

Another quilt for me.  I need to create a rotation system so all these quilts get used.

This is the second of my FAL Q4 Goals.  I've got one week to finish the third and final one.  Not sure I can do it, but I'm going to give it my best effort.

Merry Christmas.  I hope you and your family have a wonderful relaxing holiday season (hopefully with some quilting thrown in the mix).

WIP Wednesday - Stash Bee Blocks

You may remember my Stash Bee blocks that I shared back in October.  I made some additional blocks and now have a finished quilt top.

I love those pops of orange.

I'm not sure how I'm going to quilt it, but thinking maybe curves or loops in grey thread.  But I have some time to think about it as it's currently on display at my LQS for the class on HST's I'm teaching in January.

I can't wait to cuddle under this quilt.

I was so happy that all the snow melted this week, but I'm sure it will be short lived.  ðŸ˜¢

Finish Friday - Baby Quilt

I was a little delayed in making a quilt for my new baby cousin...a year delayed to be exact.  Oops.  Better late than never I guess.

It was difficult to capture the true colours of all the pinks in this quilt.  When does Spring arrive???

36-inches square

Loop free motion quilting in pink variegated thread.

You can see bits of snow in the background.  Sadly Winter arrived with a vengeance this week.  And it's about -15° (and with windchill, it feels like -25°).  And that's Celsius my friends, not Fahrenheit.  It was so cold today that it hurt my face.  Now I have to go outside and shovel the driveway...sigh....I am sooooooooooo not a Winter person.

If you don't hear from me, you'll know that I'm frozen outside.  ðŸ˜€

WIP Wednesday - Meadow Mystery QAL Update

It's been fun playing along with the Meadow Mystery Quilt Along hosted by Cheryl @ Meadow Mist Designs.

Here are my December blocks.  There is only one of this type of block.

There are four of these blocks:

And four of these blocks:

I have no idea where these blocks will end up in the quilt, but I decided to play with some layouts.

Christmas Drawstring Bag

Patty @ Elm Street Quilts is hosting Bag It 2016.  Patty shares a lot of great bag tutorials.

Elm Street Quilts

I thought I'd make a drawstring bag for a Christmas gift instead of buying a gift bag.  I love this pattern from Jeni @ In Color Order.

I love this Cotton + Steel Christmas print.

And this awesome print for the inside.

You have until Friday to link up any bags you've made this fall.  Patty has some great sponsors for prizes.

Happy bag making!

TGIFF - Maker's Tote

Welcome to another Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday being hosted here on the East Coast of Canada.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your finishes from this week.  So I'll get the party started with my own finish.

Way back in May, I played along with May is for Makers and purchased five great patterns (which you can read about here).  I finally have my first finish -- a Maker's Tote by Anna @ Noodlehead.

This is also my first finish of my Q4 goals for Finish Along 2016.

front pocket - I skipped the snap

I'm so pleased with how it looks.  ðŸ˜€  Even after I forgot to change the bobbin thread before I sewed on the handles.  Oh well...

inside pockets

It was a little difficult sewing in the side sections.  It's definitely not perfect, but now that I've made one, I know what to do and not to do next time.

Now it's time for your finishes.  Link up your blog post showing off your finished project using the linkup below.  Don't forget to visit a few blogs to spread some quilty love and encouragement.  Please include a link and/or the TGIFF button in your blog post so your followers can also view all the great finishes.

I'm caught up!!  A couple of nights of assembly line production, and I'm up to date with my Modern HST Sampler blocks.  Just one more block to go.

#19 - Perspective

#20 - Confetti

#21 - Diamond Twirl

#22 - Shattered

#23 - Bejewelled

I need to start thinking about possible layouts and a quilting plan.

Stop back on Friday when I'm hosting Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday.  I'm looking forward to seeing all your finishes.

Friday Finish - Just the Basics QAL

This is a finish I forgot to blog about.  The post has been sitting in the Draft folder.  It was difficult to find the right lighting to get some good photos, and then I totally forgot.  Oops.

I played along with the Just the Basics QAL hosted by Leanne @ Devoted Quilter.

You can read more about my quilt here.

The low-volume print doesn't actually read as white.  I find it a bit busy.

Because there was a lot going on, I decided to do a simple loop FMQ in white thread.  The quilting doesn't show up very well, but it does have texture.

This quilt will go in my stash until I find it's permanent home.

WIP Wednesday - Meadow Mystery Update

I finished the November instructions before the end of the month.  Woo hoo!!  There's still time to play along with the Meadow Mystery Quilt Along hosted by Cheryl @ Meadow Mist Designs.

Although I finished October's instructions in October, I didn't actually trim the blocks until this week.

We made four different hourglass blocks.

November was flying geese and square-in-square blocks.

December's instructions will be released next week.  I can't wait to see what's next and to see if I made the right choice with my fabric selections.

Friday Finish - Teaching is Fun!

You may recall that I mentioned back in September that I would be teaching a class at my LQS.  It was awesome!  We had a great time over the four weeks.  There was frustration, laughter, and joy, and in the end, there were finished quilts.

I made a quilt as well so I could demonstrate all the steps as we went along.

They learned about pieced backs because I didn't have enough fabric.  LOL

This is Jayne's baby quilt.  She finished everything in class except hand stitching the binding.  It's so bright and cheerful.

This is Lorraine's lap quilt.  She, too, finished everything except hand stitching the binding.  It's hard to tell from the photo, but two of the prints have purple in them, so we went bold with a purple binding.

Heather also made a lap quilt.  She did some extra homework, so she finished the binding during our last class.  The colours don't come through as rich as they truly are.  That's a beautiful orange print.

And Darlene just kept adding pluses until she ran out of fabric and then added a border.  It ended up being a double quilt.  Pretty impressive for her first quilt.  She only needs to hand stitch the binding.

And finally Kat, with a lap quilt.  Kat works at the LQS and had to work during our third class.  So she's not quite finished...just a bit more quilting and then the binding.

Kat used her leftover squares to piece the back.  It's a reversible quilt.

I enjoyed sharing my love of quilting.  We had good discussions and just had a great time.  I've been asked to teach two more classes in the winter session starting in January.  So I need to put together two classes and create supply lists before the middle of November.  Panic...but I'm excited!
