TGIFF - Sailing Away

First project completed from my FAL Q3 list!!

An 8 x 9 inch paper pieced mini of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild logo.

Wavy lines quilted with invisible thread.

I am very happy with the end result.  But as I finished sewing the binding on....I realized that I didn't include hanging corners so I can hang the mini.  Seriously???  I can't believe I forgot.  Oh well....

Now to decide which project to tackle next.

  2. Easy. Use the Lazy Ass method as described here: http://www.right-sides-together.com/four-ways-to-hang-a-quilt/
Your mini is so graphic; love the blues, the design and your execution of it.

  3. More paper piecing! It's caught on a bit, I see. :) Lovely colors - but you knew I'd say that.

  4. I love the bold colors, Anja!! What a great finish! Have you seen the method of hanging that uses safety pins and little removable command hooks? I think it should work for an 8"x9" mini, depending on where you want to hang it :) Or there's always the hand stitched hanging sleeve option... shouldn't take too long since it's mini! Lovely finish! <3

  5. I love it, you did such a good job with the paper piecing! I never remember hanging sleeves but I also never have the hardware to hand anything properly. Lol. I've just been using pins or little tacks to put them on the wall until I get my act together. :)

  11. Great yacht!
I hang my minis with mini pegs on a mini line - no hanging corners required.

  18. I love this cutie sailboat. Question for you: Do you regularly quilt with invisible thread? It could work for a project I'm working on now, but I'll probably be too much of a scaredy-cat to try it. : )
