TGIFF - Heart Quilt for #QuiltsforNovaScotia

Do not adjust your screen --  I am hosting Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday for the second week in a row.  Now is the chance to share your finish from this week.

If you would like to host TGIFF, there are lots of dates available for the remainder of 2020.  You can sign up here.

In April, Nova Scotia had a mass shooting -- the worse in the province's history and the worse in Canada's history.  So as quilters do, my guild (Maritime Modern Quilt Guild) started a quilt drive for families of the victims and first responders.  Our own Andrea @ 3rd Story Workshop created a design for a heart quilt -- which she shares at no cost.

I'm part of quilt bee of four, and this was our group effort.  I pieced the blocks and did the quilting.  It's now in Jenn's hands for binding and adding the label.  The binding is made from Nova Scotia tartan.

I did an all-over stipple in white thread, and it gives the quilt lots of texture.

Andrea did a great job with this pattern.  The quilt is 65 inches square.

  7. It's a beautiful quilt. I really like the blue fabrics. Your quilting gives it a lovely texture. While it is a wonderful gesture for the grieving families, it's sad to know this beautiful quilt was made for such a sad occasion.
