We have reached the end of the Stay at Home Round Robin (SAHRR) hosted by Gail @ Quilting Gail.
Round 7 is being hosted by Gail @ Quilting Gail. For the final round, Gail chose pinwheels.
As I mentioned last week, I decided to combine Rounds 6 and 7 into one border.Trimming HSTs is so easy when you use Bloc Loc rulers.
And then there was a pinwheel block.
When I started this project, I was using Kona colours in my stash. I didn't have a definite plan for each round, but I always had enough fabric. Until this round. I "ran" out of Kona Natural. I did have more, but it wasn't washed. I didn't have time to wash more (because of course, I was sewing at the last minute). So I decided to reduce the number of pinwheels on each side and then use the lightest pink as the new background. But...when I did the math, I didn't have enough the pink. Of course not. So I had to go with a medium pink. So now the quarter log cabins in the corners blend into the background. Note to self: make a plan and don't sew last minute. LOL
Each week, there will be a linky party hosted by the blogger who designed that week's round.

I like your last round, it frames the quilt top beautifully!
ReplyDeleteWonderful job! I love both the subtle logcabins and the great cheery pinwheels.
ReplyDeleteI like your modern vibe for your Round Robin, Anja! I do like the bright colors, too!
ReplyDeleteLove the pinwheels! Bright and cheerful!! It's a wonderful quilt! :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think the log cabins disappear at all, I think they are a nice accent. I really like the boldness of the additional pink in the outer border. I like it!
ReplyDeleteI’m not a pink loving person but I do love this. Beautiful 🤩
ReplyDeleteHi Anja! I think those log cabin blocks in the corners with the dark pink last logs really does add a frame-type look to the corners. And I agree with you about the Bloc-Loc rulers. You just can't go wrong when using them to trim those HSTs. Yeah, I was sewing at the last minute, too. Like Sunday afternoon and trying to get a decent photo Sunday evening. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteVery sneaky, putting those low value transition log cabins in the corner! The whole quilt looks great!
ReplyDeleteWow!! Such a wonderful color explosion, Anja!!
ReplyDeleteWow - a so colorful SAHRR! Love how you did the last row.
