Another UFO Finish - 2020 Summer Sampler

And yet another UFO finish from the Christmas break.  This was the Summer Sampler 2020 hosted by Swim Bike Quilt, Lee Heinrich, and Fresh Lemon Quilts. 

I was rebel and skipped the fancy sashing as noted in the pattern.

This finishes 60 x 60 inches.  There were a lot of Kona:  Orchid, Silver, Snow, Breakers, Aqua, Berry, Cactus, Acid Lime, Violet, Caribbean, Turquoise, Peapod, Bonsai, Summer Pear, Honey Dew, Sangria, Celestial, Crimson, Peony, and Ballerina.

I quilted an all-over stipple.

I enjoyed the various techniques, but I've discovered that I don't like weekly QALs.  It's too easy to fall behind.

Summer Sampler 2020 Update

I've been keeping up with the the Summer Sampler 2020 hosted by Swim Bike Quilt, Lee Heinrich, and Fresh Lemon Quilts.  Although I have posted my blocks over on my Instagram, I haven't done a blog post to showcase all the blocks to date.

Block 5 - Brae

Block 6 - Convergence

Block 7 - Diverge

Block 8 - Direction

Block 9 - Midsummer

Block 10 - Zephyr

I have the pieces cut for this week's Block 11...hoping to sew tomorrow.

WIP Wednesday - Summer Sampler 2020 Continues

Here's my version of Block #3 Lakeside for the the Summer Sampler 2020 hosted by Swim Bike Quilt, Lee Heinrich, and Fresh Lemon Quilts.  There's still time to get the pattern and sew along.

This week, I used Kona Snow, Turquoise, Sangria, Peapod, Aqua, and Honey Dew.

Hopefully, I can stay on track for this QAL, but since I still haven't finished all the blocks for the 2019 QAL, I'm not making any promises. 😊

WIP Wednesday - Summer Sampler 2020

Are you sewing along with Summer Sampler 2020 hosted by Swim Bike Quilt, Lee Heinrich, and Fresh Lemon Quilts?

I bought my pattern just before the first block was released.  I assumed I had the necessary Kona in my stash....I was wrong.  So I'm going to substitute some colours based on what is in my stash.

This is Block 1 Trellis, using Kona Berry (instead of Cerise), Aqua, Acid Lime (instead of Cactus), and Snow.  The blocks are all 12.5 inches unfinished.

And did you know you can buy orange masking tape??  Yes please!!

This is Block 2 Infinite Pinwheels.  I used Kona Snow, Breakers (instead of Oasis), Celestial, Acid Lime (instead of Cactus), and Peapod.

I used my Bloc Loc HST ruler for both these blocks.  It makes trimming so much easier.

So now I'm caught up and waiting for Block 3 to be released next week.
