I saw a sample at my LQS earlier this week -- a trivet for hot dishes. I was intrigued by the striped effect, so decided I needed to give it a try.
It didn't take long to piece together. I used Insulbrite batting (at least, that's what I think it was) from my stash.
I wish there was something delicious in that dish...guess I need to buy groceries and make something. LOL
The lines in one of the triangles does not line up precisely with the others, but it's hard to tell. I had to cut the fabric lengthwise, so I have six more triangles to make a second trivet.

A neat effect and lining up those stripes takes a little bit of patience. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove it, 👍 well done.
ReplyDeletePerfect, and I don't see the misaligned one. Don't be so critical, it is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool! If you hadn't mentioned the misaligned lines, no one would notice. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes! A quick finish for the win! That fabric, with its tiny stripes, would be impossible to line up perfectly. But it doesn't matter here because there will be a hot dish sitting on top of it! : )
ReplyDeleteAny advice on using Insulbrite? I have a bit that I was going to transform into some coasters.
Beautiful and Utterly useful. Love everything about it!!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that!!! and what a great idea!!!
