Are you sewing along with Gail @ Quilting Gail for her annual Stay at Home Round Robin? There is still time to join in.
Roseanne & Sue @ Home Sewn by Us chose round 1 -- spools. As always, you decide how to interpret each weekly theme.
I realized that although I said last week that my centre block was 6.5 inches...it was actually 7 inches. So I had to unstitch it and re-do it; otherwise, it would have been a challenge to add this week's round. Luckily, it was only four seams to unstitch.
I made 6.5-inch blocks (yes, they are the right size LOL). I used Kona Blueprint and Dove and a Makower UK print.
In case you missed it, here is my centre block.

Hi Anja! Oooh, such pretty blues! They really offset your center block so nicely. It's rather regal looking. Nice job! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteNice choice, Anja! I'm loving how each presenter has used a different type of Spool block for this round.
ReplyDeleteExcellent round Anja. The royal blue color is super.
ReplyDeleteI like how the spools are tumbling around your center block. And bummer you had to resew your center, but at least you caught it and it went quickly!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your spools and the way they are tumbling. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI also like how the spools tumble around your center block. The blue and the orange is a great combination - it's a happy piece!
ReplyDeleteThose blue spools look fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteI love these spools around your center block. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Anja! Love the blue and white...and your center block!
ReplyDeleteThat blue is popping those center colors! Great design.
ReplyDeleteWell isn't that just too cool? Love it. I am contemplating what/how I am going to do with mine!
ReplyDeleteMy blocks are usually 1/8-1/4 off too. Better when it is over than under!
ReplyDeleteYour first border turned out beautifully. There's a lot of logic on going with bigger blocks as I discovered after my first effort.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun start. Great design!
