Stay at Home Round Robin - Round 1

Are you sewing along with Gail @ Quilting Gail for her annual Stay at Home Round Robin?  There is still time to join in.

Roseanne & Sue @ Home Sewn by Us chose round 1 -- spools.  As always, you decide how to interpret each weekly theme.

I realized that although I said last week that my centre block was 6.5 inches...it was actually 7 inches. So I had to unstitch it and re-do it; otherwise, it would have been a challenge to add this week's round. Luckily, it was only four seams to unstitch.

I made 6.5-inch blocks (yes, they are the right size LOL).  I used Kona Blueprint and Dove and a Makower UK print.

This now measures 18.5 inches.

In case you missed it, here is my centre block.

Each Monday, a different blogger will reveal that week's theme.

  1. Hi Anja! Oooh, such pretty blues! They really offset your center block so nicely. It's rather regal looking. Nice job! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. I like how the spools are tumbling around your center block. And bummer you had to resew your center, but at least you caught it and it went quickly!

  12. My blocks are usually 1/8-1/4 off too. Better when it is over than under!

  13. Your first border turned out beautifully. There's a lot of logic on going with bigger blocks as I discovered after my first effort.
