Friday Finish - Just the Basics QAL

This is a finish I forgot to blog about.  The post has been sitting in the Draft folder.  It was difficult to find the right lighting to get some good photos, and then I totally forgot.  Oops.

I played along with the Just the Basics QAL hosted by Leanne @ Devoted Quilter.

You can read more about my quilt here.

The low-volume print doesn't actually read as white.  I find it a bit busy.

Because there was a lot going on, I decided to do a simple loop FMQ in white thread.  The quilting doesn't show up very well, but it does have texture.

This quilt will go in my stash until I find it's permanent home.

  1. I really like the combination of fabrics! All of the fabrics pop, in their own way. Awesome work!!

  5. I would never think to team pink, yellow, black and white together, but I really like the combination.
We have all lost posts in our drafts folder while waiting for sunshine and photos!

  6. It made me smile to see this pop up in the links :) The white print is busy, but the print is small enough that it doesn't feel overpowering. Hopefully you'll find a home for it soon :)

  7. A lovely quilt! This post makes me think I should take a look at my drafts folder, wonder what might be lurking there.

  8. I like it a lot. The background color cause the yellow to pop almost giving the yellow a three dimensional/holographic look. You should be quite pleased with it.

  9. It looks great Anja. I think the yellow really emphasises the diamond shape.

  10. Better late than never and I'm always ready to give an atta-girl for a finish! I wish I had more of them! I really like how it looks 3-D. The diamonds grab your attention first but then I saw the stars as well. Fun quilt!

  12. Congrats on the lovely finish, Anja! Isn't that funny you finished her up and settled her into your stash and forgot about her? She would make a wonderful cozy Christmas gift!
