TGIFF - Trinket Finish

I participated in the Alison Glass Trinket Sew Along earlier this year.  I finally quilted my finished top.

I made one of each of the 40 blocks, so my quilt finishes 32 x 39.5 inches.  Each paper pieced block finishes at 4 inches.

This was a good project to keep on top of my paper piecing skills.

I quilted an all-over loopy motif in grey thread.

This quilt will join my pile with the hopes of finding it's forever home soon.

I'm hoping to get back to routine after Hurrican Dorian hit last weekwns.  I was without power at home for two days and without cell and landline phone service.  And then two days this week, we had no power at work.  It's been a long challenging week, but I am grateful that I had no damage to my house.  But I am now looking to purchase a generator.

TGIFF - A Friday (almost) Finish

Welcome to Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday.  If you're visiting for the first time, I am one of four monthly managers for TGIFF.  I live in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I have to confess that I don't have a "finish" to share with you this week.  My nieces were in town unexpectedly this week.  Since they live in another province, I only see them every couple of months when the oldest has an doctor's appointment.  So I cancel all my commitments to spend as much time with the girls as possible, so there was no sewing this week.  If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen their adorable little faces. ♥

I do have a finished quilt top to share.  I pieced together all my Trinket blocks.

Sorry I don't have more to say, but I'm rushing out the door to get to my quilt guild meeting on time (which is not going to happen).

Trinket Sew Along

Have you seen the Alison Glass Trinket Sew Along?

Clinton Modern Creative,  a wonderful Canadian online store, is a shop sponsor for the SAL.  Owner Darla has recruited some Canadian bloggers to sew along.  Joining me are:

I'll be using two Alison Glass bundles:  Insignia and Kaleidoscope.

I don't have a plan for my blocks/layout, i.e. I didn't do a colouring sheet.  I'm just picking colours as I go along.

I'll do a weekly blog post, but my blocks will be posted daily on Instagram.  You can find me @AnjaQuilts.

Today is the first day of the Sew Along, and we are making block Lines #1.  I like to cut templates to help me with paper piecing -- otherwise, I always make mistakes -- those pesky angles.  I marked on my paper template the size of fabric needed.

It didn't take long for Lines #1 to be completed.
