I made the Double Disappearing Nine-Patch, and here's my finished quilt.
You start out with a simple nine-patch block using 5-inch squares, that you cut into eight pieces -- the traditional horizontal and vertical cuts, and then you cut each quadrant on the diagonal.
You sew the opposite inner triangles (with pink corners) together and the outer triangles together.
This results in four 6.5-inch blocks -- two blocks that have reverse colours on the top.
And two blocks with a little bit of colour in the corners.
The layout is alternating blocks. The white centre is a result of operator error (block trimming error), and I didn't have any fabric to make more blocks.
I attempted a flower quilting motif. Some flowers are a little more organic than others. 😊
I can't wait to try some of the other patterns in the book.

I'm up late, but awake enough to enjoy your post and brightly colored quilt. Thanks for the eye candy.
I just love this quilt!! Not "operational error"...it was a "design choice" to make your quilt uniquely yours!!
I love this pattern and your colors.
Beautiful quilt! I'm very intrigued by the designs in this book.
I think the operator error gives this quilt it's own unique look. Personally I like the white center.
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who puts a quilt together and finds I didn't have quite enough fabric!! We make it work!!
Your quilt is beautiful!
I like how the flowers quilted into your quilt softened it up, very beautiful!
I can't wait to try some of these patterns.
Your design change could have been intentional. It looks like it belongs.

the "operator error" makes the quilt uniquely yours.

Your operator error looks like the center of a maze! Sometimes mistakes make the design.
Love the colors you used. Great quilt!
I love the way you quilt turned out. What a creative book this has turned out to be. Thanks for sharing!!
This book just seems like soo much fun!!
Great colour combo. I’m happy that you made the error it gives the quilt a great look, love it.
Love the layout and how it differs from others with this design. The bright colors make it a stand out quilt.
Wow, this is so graphic and simply stunning! Great job!
Hard to believe that it's a disappearing nine-patch. Thanks for the explanation.
An awesome pattern, a striking result with just a few cuts!
This is a super fun quilt! I’m really curious about the other fun things in that book.
I love your colors and how the pattern turned out!
Nice interpretation of a 9 patch ! And your white center gives added interest!
I agree - adding in that plain white square in the center give visual interest to the quilt that it would lack if it were all the same repeating set of blocks. Definitely a good outcome.
I love the 'operator error' element of the quilt! It adds a lot of interest to the design :)
That's Beautiful! And with the tutorial, easy!
That is one lovely quilt! Who would know it started from a simple Nine Patch - the first block I ever learned.
I have never tried any disappearing nine patch blocks! I love how you can take a simple block and whack it to pieces to create something so different! You did a fantastic job! It looks so fun!
What fun it is to see how the block “disappears “ and the new shape happens! I love it!
Oh how I'd love to win this book! It is the coolest! Love how your quilt turned out, wonderful colours and yay you on the new quilting motif! It never ceases to amaze me the endless possibilities one can make with simple shapes!!
Interesting procedure. Wonderful colors. Great explanation. Makes me want the book and to make blocks. Thanks for shsring!
The quilt has a stair step look to it. What an interesting way to put a block together.
